Debator,
the only thing you preach is the death of our lord not the resurrection, which robs the glory of God.

Debator,
Do you honestly think that Jehovah is bothered. Do you think it pleases him that so many have substitute days. Elders, MS, ect. If i substitute a word for a swear word isnt it the same?

One day a kid I was friends with at school showed up at our front door with a gift for my birthday. My father was not well pleased. lol.
We always went out Christmas Day. Me in my short trousers calling on the kids at school. It was soooo much fun.
What with the poltergiests, no christmas birthdays or presents, endless meetings and field service and no education to speak of which led to menial work, no girlfriends growing up a JW loads of fun.

There are lots of JW's who have a gift day or some such day. I started having them ended up having two a year one near Christmas. One year a MS servant got a bag of toys together for as many of the kids as he could think of in the congregation. It was real nice of him. It seems pathetic the reasons to resort to having these type of days. My father said we would have presents around the time of the assembly, I think he managed a year then didn't want us to be materialistic. As I always told people who asked we celebrated the death of Christ. "So you get presents then?" they would say. "No we have a talk the same every year and get really bored with it and go home to wait it out until bedtime lest we do something awful like watch TV. It's a solemn occasion, but we enjoy it.

(lv 145 par.
" After all, what do the local people think of us as we walk about in the convention city? Often, all they know about Jehovah’s Witnesses is what they see. Would they draw a distinction between our worship and the casual dress of most churchgoers today? For these few days, would it not be good to stay in our dress clothes when in the public eye in order to give the right impression?"
I detest that sort of rubbish.
